Further instalment of mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans and an egg for C1, and she went off for her last SAT test with a smile and a raspberry blown at her from me.
C2 is also in a good mood.
This makes me very happy.
What also makes me happy today is C2's agreement to have his hair cut after school today. His stipulation that it must be 'a number 4 on top and a number 3 at the sides' makes me realise that he too is growing up, and is developing his own keen sense of style.
Unlike me, who is still mostly wearing clothes slightly too big for me, weeding out the larger stuff on a weekly basis. I am not complaining though.
A visit to the Head-Readers for me, then to M&D to see how it's all going. I am Dad-sitting for a little while tomorrow to enable Mum to go shopping without wasting her valuable 'carer allocation' of 4 hours a week on mundane tasks. I wish I could help more, but I have C1 and C2 to care for here, and with the best will in the world, I don't think overnighters are a good idea with 2 littlies. My attention would be torn between too many people.
Mum has given me 2 of the biggest sticks of rhubarb I have seen in a while, so after fish pie, we will be enjoying the simple pleasure of rhubarb and custard tonight. I will be avoiding the custard, however!
Just a matter of collecting in the washing off the line, collecting C2, haircut, making tea, and all the rest, then it will be time to relax with Star Trek and a small portion of left-over Rioja!
