C2's Sleepover was a resounding success. The sound of little boys giggling about silly stuff as they fall asleep was lovely, even though it was after 11 when silence finally fell.
C1 had a migraine after her shopping trip, and after a lie down, a bath, and a spot of vomiting, she was well enough for me to paint her toenails and snuggle down with me to watch 'Cheaper By The Dozen 2' - the nightmare of having 12 children made even more scarey by the revisit to their world, after most of the 12 have grown older. Aaaarggghhh! Good times for me and C1 though.
I woke up this morning (refer back to previous note about this not being an introduction to a Blues song!) with a blinder of a headache, and an aversion to the idea of cooking Sunday lunch. After cancelling everything, I revived myself with Weetabix, a cup of tea, uncancelled everything.
Roast chicken, cabbage, carrots, peas, gravy, roast potatoes and stuffing. Plum crumble and custard to follow. It is amazing what can be found in the freezer when it needs defrosting. Also, when one has a grand total of £1.39p in the family purse, and a massive car repair and maintenance to settle, our aim this week is to only eat what we have in the house, frozen or larder, using imagination, ingenuity, occasional bribery, and good old-fashioned 'make do and mend'.
Ironing pile reduced to nothing. Uniforms and homework all ready. Sunday afternoon doss-mode about to begin, as soon as lunch is finished.
Finished the little fish project...
... so a nice new crochet job was started yesterday.... a patchwork blanket using up all the bits and bobs - a veritable mish-mash of colour, randomness and downright beautifulness.
Stage one: 45 x 2-round squares. Completed.
