Tuesday - just when I thought all was on an even keel, we have the mother of all melt-downs from C1 five minutes before leaving for school.
SAT-Stress, the wrong pencil case, a broken zipper on the wrong pencil case, sibling bother, more stress, and a mother who 'doesn't care', and it's a case of light the blue touch paper and stand well back.
C2 went and sat in the car, waiting for service to resume, and the monster to revert back to normal girl.
C1 approached mega-watt screaming and hysteria, so the only thing I could think of (after the gentle words, reasoning and love approach) was to suggest that she got into the car and had lost use of her beloved laptop.
Threats of childline, death and hatred, and eventually the breathing returned to something like normal, the pencil case will be sorted out this afternoon, the laptop is now confiscated (the last time she called me a 'bloody idiot' I warned her that it would be removed for 2 days, no argument) and although I expect further loudness on her arrival home after school, things will settle down with love, hugs and some decent 2-way conversation.
Off to cash in some clothes for money, get some petrol, post a payment through the letterbox of car mechanic genius Andy, and buy milk.
Then home to await Mrs H who is coming, not to help muck out the garage, but to have a cup of tea and collect her little fish.
The day can only get better now.
Ho hum.
