Had an epiphany moment this morning. C2 woke up and agreed to have a bath, wash his hair, and allow me to cut his hooves and claws (ooops - I meant toe and finger nails!!!) He has not set foot in water for cleaning purposes (!!) since the beginning of March - short of anaesthetizing him, this has to be an agreement with him. Winner!!!

My frustration at the challenge of being dairy-free is increasing. Had a cup of green tea this morning. Then tried a little scrambled egg. NO!!! The egg caused some nasty tummy pain (too damn lumpy) so it was abandoned after 2 mouthfuls.
Waited half an hour before trying anything else. I am not hungry at all, which is getting more worrying.
These would probably prove too lumpy too... |
For the purposes of interest, I am listing here everything that I ate/drank yesterday:
Cup of black tea
2 tablespoons of lentil and tomato soup
2 glasses of water - sipped slowly during the day
2 tablespoons plain cooked rice - mashed up
1 tablespoon baked potato flesh mixed with 2 teaspoons tuna and mashed up
1 mug of Bovril
No dairy in there, but not much else either.
I need advice, and probably a big fat wallet if I am going to gravitate towards the soya/oat/rice milk products etc.
As there is no BFW in sight, the route needs to be via friends, internet and some recipe books.
I am doubling up my multi-vitamins and minerals (chewable to a mush, obviously!) to try to cover all options. Not satisfactory, but a start.
Feeling a bit fed up to be honest.
But as this is a permanent thing, I need to find a solution, and quick... |
Their looks of shock when they realised it was me were priceless.
I must hold on to such things, which make all this worth while.
Fownz has let me know that her estimated time of arrival will be around 3-ish. That gives me time to sort out what the 3 'normal eaters' will have tonight, and to defrost some more soup for me.
Looking forward to catching up with her. It has been a good few years since we had a chance to do this.
