New Year...

2013

My birthday: January 5th 2013 I hit the big 5-0.
I still feel 28 in my head, but my body tells me otherwise. 

Friday 18th January: appointment to meet the Bariatric Dietician - Emma, and the Bariatric Nurse - Karen. We talk about what I think is going to happen, what is really going to happen, and how this is going to be made to happen.
I am excited, scared, and not hungry at all.

Wednesday 23rd January: see C1 and C2 (children 1 & 2) off to school, then decide to punish the fridge and the food cupboards for tempting me for all these years. Scrubbed, emptied, and pristine. Now to start on me!

Monday 28th January: back to see Emma and Karen. More information, weigh-in, chat, hugs and confidence-building. Am told about the 3-week pre-operative diet which will shrink my liver and enable the operation to take place. So it begins. 

I can have 1kg natural yogurt, 1 pint semi-skimmed milk, and 4 pints of water a day. That is all. I will continue with this daily punishment until the day before my operation.
